Takedown & Infringement Policy
Cinderella is a marketplace for code, products, and ideas. We take intellectual property seriously. If a listing infringes your rights, tell us and we will act.
What you can report
- Copyright — a listing contains code, content, or assets you own and did not
license to the seller.
- Stolen code — the repository is yours and was posted without your permission.
- Ownership — the seller does not actually own or have the right to sell what
they listed.
- Trademark — a listing misuses your brand, name, or marks.
How to file a report
Every listing has a Report this listing link. Choose a reason, describe the claim, and give us a contact email. A complete report includes:
- Identification of the work you say is infringed (a link, repo, or description).
- Identification of the listing you're reporting.
- Enough detail for us to locate and assess the claim — proof of ownership helps.
- Your contact information.
- A statement, made in good faith, that the use is not authorized by you, the
rights holder, or the law.
You can also email legal@cinderella.example with the same information.
What happens next
- Our team reviews every report. We may withdraw the listing while we
investigate.
- If we take a listing down, we notify the seller and give them a chance to
respond with a counter-notice.
- We may reinstate a listing if the seller provides a valid counter-notice and
the reporter does not pursue the claim.
- Sellers who repeatedly infringe are removed from the marketplace.
Escrow protection
Because payments are held in escrow until the buyer confirms the handoff, a listing taken down before release means no funds move to an infringing seller. If a dispute arises after purchase, contact us and we can refund a held sale.
Good-faith requirement
Filing a knowingly false or bad-faith report may carry legal liability. Only report a listing if you have a genuine, good-faith belief that it infringes your rights.
